ABOUT MARK WESTPHAL
Mark Westphal, a Democrat, is a candidate for the 55th Wisconsin State Legislature.
Raised on his family’s farm, in the Town of Clayton, Mark learned at an early age the Wisconsin values of hard work and determination. His parents, Milton and Marjorie, also instilled in him a strong sense of community. Milt served as the Town Clerk for the Town of Clayton for over 40 years. Marge worked at Clayton Elementary School assisting students, parents and staff as the school’s secretary.
In 1977, Mark was an honors graduate of Neenah High School. He completed his Electrical/Instrumentation studies in 1999 and graduated from Northeast Wisconsin Technical College in Green Bay.
Mark understands how important a strong manufacturing base is to Wisconsin. He has worked in the Paper industry for the past 35 years and is employed as an industrial electrician at Graphic Packaging International Inc., in Menasha. Westphal is a proud union member of the United Steel Workers.
For the past 20 years, Westphal has served as the President of the Fox Valley Area Labor Council AFL-CIO. In his role as spokesperson for the organization, Mark has been politically active and informed on the issues that affect the Working Families of the Fox Valley. He knows that empowering the middle class of the Fox Valley is vital to maintaining a strong local economy.
As a community activist, Mark serves on the Board of Directors for: Fox Valley Workforce Development, the Labor/Management Council of Northeast Wisconsin and the United Way Fox Cities.
Mark Westphal is 55 years old and lives in the City of Neenah. He has been married to his wife Sue for 32 years. They have a daughter, Season, and a six year old granddaughter, Mara.
Mark's slogan is, "People before Politics " and he has repeatedly shown this in his dedication to the local Fox Valley community residents.
